Hi Ruben, is your mill exactly like the Grizzly G0704 mill? I have a Grizzly mill in my hangar and have thought about converting it. It looks like a fun project for sure.

I've only had the opportunity to back up the files and updated CNC12 software to ver. 4.64. Also changed the axis drive type to ClearPath SDSK & SDHP.
I have to set the steps per rev on the MSP software, and Centroid Wizzard Axis Configurations per your latest video for the SDKS ClearPath servos.
I'm hoping to finish this by the coming weekend, then I'll post the new report.

Thank You: Ruben

Hi Shawn.
The mills are not the same. You need to get a different Ball Screw Kit.
Get in contact with Dave Clements from Arizonavideo99 at davedaxx1@yahoo.com

You'll need to do some research on the servos/stepper motor that you'll be using because the shafts come in different diameters. Dave will need that information to set you up with the appropriate kit. You'll need to do research on the power supply, boards, and other stuff you'll be needing.

I opted to buy the Centroid Acorn board, and Teknic ClearPath servo, also their electronics.

checkout Arizonavideo99, also Franco videos on YouTube, and many others available on YouTube for your mill.
Also, CentroidCNC, CNCkeith, and Martyscncgarage, these guys made videos that are instrumental in setting up your CNC mill.

Ruben, sorry that I was not able to get back to you, (just had 80% of my stomach removed). I am not sure of the screw pitch that ArizonaVideo99 uses in his kits I have the ProCutCnc kit). But in any case it looks like you are getting plenty of help from others. I know that I calibrated my machine the best I could then went back and re-calibrated and fined tuned it.

I still need to change the approach of my targets to the limit switches. I have also added a power drawbar and a semi-enclosure to limit the spread of chips around the house and garage.

Good luck with your machine, Chuck

Thanks Ruben, I've done several "router" retrofits now so I'm pretty well versed on how Acorn works and how everything is wired up. I have this Grizzly mill and just wondered if it would be worth retrofitting or not. I don't use it all that much but it's nice to have when I need to make or modify a part. I reached out to Dave to see if he makes a kit and what the cost is. When I saw yours it look nearly identical to my Grizzly, that's why I asked. Thanks for the response.

Hello Mart, Keith.

Just wanted to let you know that I followed the step on the literature, also the videos that you suggested and was able to get the CNC mill properly fine-tuned.

I want to thank you for your help. Your videos were of great help for me and I'm sure many others.

I did a test-run circular pocket and it came extremely close to tolerance.

I also want to wish Chuck a speedy recovery from his surgery and thank all others too.

Here is the final report

Thank You: Ruben
