hi
i am having some issues. i have set up all the od tools in the tool table no problem. i have a rear mounted tool post.
i have trouble with the internal threading and turning tools
my tool one is an od turning tool the internal tool be around 8mm difference in the x, but its populating the table with a lot bigger numbers
i have read the manual but i must be doing something wrong somewhere
any ideas or could someone just run through how they set up an internal threading or turning tool
cheers

Try doing a search on lathe tool setup here on the forum. We have had several good conversations on this topic in the past. There have been some improvements made with the latest software version.
The old version of the manual is a little bit vague. The tools setup procedure works once you get your head around it.

And make sure you are on the latest version of the Acorn software.
Cheers,

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

Re: centroid lathe tool table
If you are using a standard center finder tool to find the center you will just touch off on the backside of the diameter versus the front side with an OD tool. The software figures it out for you. The offsets for ID tools look way too big but they are right. If you want to check if they are indeed right then use the MDI and input the tool number and go to X , 0 and you can see if something is actually off or not.
