Using in a gang tool setup on a lathe.
While this tool is shaped like a parting tool it's used like a turning tool.
I saw the setup instructions in the manual for both and there's where the confusion starts.
If I set it up like a parting tool in absolute mode there's no way to account for the width. If I put it in incremental mode does it account for the radius on both sides?
If I set it up like a turning tool there's no tool shaped like that in the "tool type" and so the geometry is likely going to be off.
Does it have to be setup as a custom tool?
The ones I have are
W = 0.093
R = 0.046
Just trying to go the easiest and most accurate way about it.
Thanks in advance!

Intercon will not handle that tool. I use some like that from Sandvik and you have to program the trailing edge toolpath yourself.
Cheers,

Confidence is the feeling you have before you fully understand the situation.
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.
