The pawn was causing a totally separate issue to my original issue. It took a long time to discover this though, all those wasted hours :)

All is good now. No more home switch tripping, and the original problem send to have gone in the process. I'm not really keen to try to find the root cause of the original issue, since I am very much behind with everything else. Thanks to everyone that helped with this.
