Ok, great. You stated In one post your spindle was capable of 6k to 24k, now you are saying it’s 18k? I know on water cooled spindles the specs are laser etched on the side of the spindle. Not sure where this is on an air cooled spindle. There was certainly a little confusion in your posts but glad you have it working. Did you adjust the settings in the wizard to match your spindle and VFD?

Just a thought. My router has an Italian Teknomotor air cooled spindle with ceramic bearings so may be different to the OP. My manual states it must not be run below 6k as that would cause overheating damage due to insufficient cooling. I therefore set min 6k (and max 24k) in the Wizard to prevent inadvertent senior moments.

Nigelo...
It may be easier to calibrate if you set the minimum RPM (frequency) in the VFD and then set min/max rpm in the Wizard to 0/24K

The OP didn't give quite enough details on the spindle and some conflicting info as well so we were all guessing on a few things. True, some air cooled spindles do have minimum speeds and it's best practice to setup the VFD to match your spindle. Then set the wizard max speed after you calibrate everything. So many variations.

Thanks Gary and yes the VFD (Schneider Altivar) had already been set to 100hz/400hz by the OEM on a new router under warranty. My benchtest indicated an analog output of 2.5vdc to 10vdc from Acorn when the Wizard RPMs was set to 6K/24k so I used those settings as they matched the VFD settings.

In the absence of a reliable Tacho (my chinese laser Tach is all over the place at the best of times) I assumed this was correct. Is this not the case?

Hi again! I now got some time to test it. Its wierd that when i give spindle MDI m3 10000 or select speed by manual buttons on screen, Out2 on relay board light turns orange and when i add speed, it will go more green. Funny thing is that i dont have Out2 configured and spindle forward is on Out4. And when i turn spindle off, Out2 and Out4 light goes red. Im not sure why this analog voltage goes thru Out2? Any ideas?
