Hi! I have 4x PNP NC proximity sensors and would like to use them on my cnc for homing ang gantry squaring. Is it even possible since i havent found any instructions for it. I have acorn board with 3axis and 1 slave motor. I have cl57y drives with nema23 closed loop hybrid steppers.
Thanks a lot!

Re: PNP NC proximity sensors
You need NPN proximity switches. You can’t find instructions because Acorn needs NPN switches. This is all in the auto squaring manual. You can buy them very inexpensively on eBay and Amazon. Search the forum for the many links to buy them online.

Ok, thanks! Sry to hear that. Is there any specific qualitys for the sensors? Parameters?

This depends on your needs. I'm a router guy and don't need the high dollar sensors that a mill guy might want for precise repeatability. These have worked just fine for my needs on 3 different machines, this is a 5 pack for $16 on eBay. The very same one on the Centroid website.

Ok, but what about https://uk.farnell.com/multicomp/mcpin- ... dp/2409198
Is there any performance difference between threaded and your suggested sensors?

Re: PNP NC proximity sensors
You can use either mount type, it depends on your machine. As for the spec differences, you'll have to look them up and do your own homework as to what will work for you. As long as it's NPN it'll work. They are available with different sensing ranges but any of them will work as long as they are NPN. Just make sure you use ferrous metal as the flag, not aluminum.
