Auto squaring and limit switch configuration

Post by DaHealey »

Hi, I have a question about configuration of limit switched and using auto squaring. Right now I have my Acorn board setup with each switch configured to a separate input, normally open, and using 'FirstAxisHomeLimitOk', 'SecondAxisHomeLimitOk', 'ThirdAxisHomeLimitOk' and then the slave switch as 'SlaveHomeInput'.

I'm trying to setup AutoSquaring using the wizard and I can't get it to work. Without going into the details of why it won't work yet, I can't help but notice that all the guides for Auto Squaring say to use all three switches wired in parallel to 'HomeAll'. Will auto squaring refuse to work unless you use the exact configuration with 'HomeAll' and 'SlaveHomeInput'?

For reference, the machine is a CNC Router, Avid CNC PRO4848 using the default Pepperl+Fuchs proximity switches (https://www.pepperl-fuchs.com/usa/en/cl ... rodid=3441)

Thanks.

please follow the auto squaring directions to the T if you want to use the Wizard generated auto squaring homing program.

the stock auto squaring home program is written for use with HomeAll

other methods will work but that up to you to write that home program for other scenarios.

Hi Keith, Thanks for the help. I did end up re-wiring my homing switches to a configuration that uses ‘HomeAll’ and the auto squaring wizard works like a charm now.
