Post by usinart »

I want to know how to proced with the 2 win 10 pc for communicating together.
I place a dedicaded ethernet card in each pc.
Place a ethernet cable ( a twist one ) the connector are not wiring the same for communicatin with one to other.
My base pc don't see the cnc12 at the other end.

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

I'm not clear on what you want to do... what is the end goal? Why do you want two pc's to communicate together? So you can transfer G code files or to upgrade a computer?

Not really an Acorn issue:

In order for two PC's to "see" each other you have to do several things in windows. You need a network, either public or private and you make that decision when you setup each PC network. Each PC has to be "discoverable" on the network.

I don't use a null cable to do this, I use a cheap $10.00 5 port switch and plug each PC into the switch using a standard ethernet cable. (does not need to be shielded)

PC's can have two ethernet cards but I've not tried it with Acorn to see if it interferes. It may cause issues!

You should be able to do a google search and get all the info you need to do this.

You can have multiple NICs in the same PC with no issues. You then just have to be aware of which one you set the static IP on for control communication and make sure your ethernet cable from the control is plugged into that NIC.
