The way my Touch Screen is mounted on the moving gantry type machine, the X-Y orientation of the graph needs to change by 90 degrees for avoiding confusion and relating the path shown with factual movement.
This 'possibly' is required also for the graphics one sees Plate Sensing feature for Coordinate system rotation. However I have not tried to experiment with this a lot - so not very sure about this need.
Has anyone faced this need an implemented a solution successfully?

Re: Changing Orientation of the Cutting Path Graph
hello. you'll need to provide more information, photo of your machine and draw on it which axes are label and the direction of the cutter movement for each

Re: Changing Orientation of the Cutting Path Graph
Part of the problem is the X-axis is backwards. X+ should be the head moving to the right. See viewtopic.php?f=64&t=3638
Cheers,
Tom

tom is correct.

Re: Changing Orientation of the Cutting Path Graph
Tom beat me to it
Note that the sample illustration A.9 in viewtopic.php?f=64&t=3638 is of a "portal type milling machine" with a moving table.
You say you have a moving gantry. If the carriage moves away from the operator for Y+, then the gantry needs to move to the operator's right for X+.

Re: Changing Orientation of the Cutting Path Graph
In general, the on-screen graphics for a Mill (or Router) control are going to show the X axis moving left/right, and the Y axis moving front/back.
While you may be able to change many of the illustrations (e.g. on the Part Setup and Probing menus) by redrawing the BMP files to suit your preference, you will not be able to change the orientation of the F8/Graph screen.
If you want the orientation of the user interface to match the orientation of the machine, you should either rotate the console to match the machine (or put it on a swivel so the operator can do that); or reconfigure the machine to match the console (by making gantry movement Y, and carriage movement X).

Re: Changing Orientation of the Cutting Path Graph
For the most part Z is always defined by the spindle with the positive direction moving away from the work; X is the longest travel distance with the positive direction according to the right-hand-rule, and Y+ direction follows the right-hand-rule.

Tom

Re: Changing Orientation of the Cutting Path Graph
Thanks for all the responses. This is a demonstration of collective wisdom at work for me. I shall experiment with few of the suggestions.
F8-Graph and F2-View/Rotate would be the main solution and finally following the right hand thumb rule should resolve this completely. Shall try today.
tks.......
