When you run another program, you have to reset part zero. (Assuming it uses the same tools in the tool library)

Thanks Marty- I will make sure I do that. It seems the best measure at least in what I have found is that I get a more consistent result if I shut down CNC12 if I run a differnt job. If I don't it almost seems like part or all of the current job is still in memory? Not sure that makes sense or not?

You shouldn't need to shut down CCN12 when switching jobs, but if you've found a process that works for you that's great!
Cheers,

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

Hello new here with my first conversion and found your thread because I was having the EXACT same issues as you. Everything seemed to be working fine for a few parts until I crashed a $60 tool straight into some aluminum. After reading through all the pages I started thinking it was just lost motion and slowed down my Z rapids alot and slowed acceleration. I also reset my offsets after and found they were wrong due to lost motion. I ran the same gcode and it worked perfectly. I will do some further testing soon.Good luck

~edit~ I did more testing and the Z axis still falls short of home position only after running a program  , machine coordinates say Z 0 when its about -.5

Make sure you tell the control which tool you are using to set the Z part zero.
Make sure your tool offsets are correct.

have you confirmed that you have the turns ratio set correctly?
