Re: 50% Rapid Button
There is a feedrate knob on the control panel that adjust from 0%-125% (upper end can be changed in parameters - I have mine set a t 200%) that overrides both feeds and rapids. Just because your machine CAN do 24m/min rapids, does it NEED to? If not, lower the rapid setting under machine setup: F1 Setup/F3 Config/F2 Mach./F1 Jog
Cheers,
Tom

Re: 50% Rapid Button
Part of the requirement for this retrofit is that the machine doesn't lose any of its current capabilities, so must be able to rapid at its current full speed.
So, is there no means by which rapid rate can be reduced while the machine is running for safety? This has me worried now!

Re: 50% Rapid Button
There is only one feedrate override knob which controls both rapids and feedrates.

Re: 50% Rapid Button
Your use of the word RAPID is misleading as I believe you are referring to your manual use of the JOG buttons rather than rapid in the conventional G0 sense.ashesman wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 4:41 am I have a similar question along this line. My machine rapid is way too fast to control with buttons at full speed. Does the feed rate override knob on the control panel slow rapid movement down as well or just cutting feed rate? My machine currently has a separate rapid speed override and feed rate override control. I usually use rapid at 5-10% of full speed when controlling it manually.
So, maybe I will need these same controls to reduce rapid rate as Charles?
Therefore, and as stated earlier in this thread, you set your "rapid" to 5%/10% when controlling it manually ( ie Jogging), by setting the FAST JOG in the Wizard to say 2.4m/sec whilst leaving the MAX RATE at 24m/sec.
If you wish to further control running your Program (or MDI) you can then use the feedrate adjuster anywhere from 0% to 100% (or 125%/150%/200% depending on configuration). This will apply to all feedrates in your Program including G0 Rapids.
I do not see what else you require.
Hope this helps

Re: 50% Rapid Button
Ok, that is what I wanted to hear...
The machine currently will manually jog at full rapid feed rate by default. It's stupid! First thing you do after turning it on is slow the manual rapid jog right down. It has separate manual rapid jog and manual feed controls both with individual rate adjustment. And separate rate adjustments for automatic mode rapid and feed rate overrides too.
