Beta Release 4.59 Release 12 *Give it a try*

Post by martyscncgarage »

All,
I think we are very close to the release of version 4.60 which includes a new Router "Skin" (VCP interface that router users might find more comfortable with) and PWM for Laser and possible Spindle use.

Hoping we can get a few more users to give it a go.
It will require a fresh install and you keying in your machine settings which is pretty easy if you take screen shots of your existing Wizard pages and follow the instructions on Keith's post here: viewtopic.php?f=60&t=5079&start=50

I tested it today on my 2x2 router with a NEJE20 Laser module and it seems to work well.
I also tested it on my Emcoturn 140 Turning Center.

So, if you all have the time, it takes about 30 minutes and if you follow the instructions you can always drop back easily to your previous version if you like. If you find anything, make sure you can repeat it, and document or better yet post a video clip in the post above.

Kudos once again to Centroid's work on improving the software, mostly based on user requests. Beta testers try and do what they can with their equipment to test the hardware and software but community input helps put the finishing touches on things.

Marty

Have it loaded up on my 5'x10'. Used it to surface my flow through spoil board. That seemed to go well. I am trying to figure out the m codes for the vacuum hold down. I will have a Chinese laser module on Monday to install and give that a go.

While these are for rev 4.5 look them up and give them a try:

Thanks Marty, I worked my way through that list and got nothing. I posted my report on another thread also as Keith was giving it a go. I would send it to you but I am at another computer. I don't expect you guys to look at this over the weekend. I understand that it's a beta version. I can turn it on manually with the vcp button, so for what I am doing this weekend I can muddle through. I'm just excited to have a working Vacuum bed now. I worked for three years using screws in sheet goods as hold downs. It's so much extra work.

You are using the inputs with the word "Router" in front of them? Not the old ones?

I have not tried using M codes but VCP was turning the RouterVacuum and RouterDustCollector Outputs on OK.

I'm not sure if I will have time to test the M codes until Monday but I'll try.
Do post a fresh report, and I will load it on my benchtest unit.

Last report I have and yes it's router pro and I tried every mcode that could or should work, but the button works just fine.
