Maybe I am stupid, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to change the default VCP. I would like to start with the router VCP, then modify from there. Currently am using the mill. I have looked through both manuals, surely I am overlooking something?

You might want to start at the beginning of this thread. Third post has a link to the manual and every other post has usable info.
Cheers,

If you bought a mill license then the install will load the mill VCP. You cannot install the router version VCP with a mill license. That said the software is EXACTLY the same but a different VCP is installed depending on your license.

The OEM VCP (mill or router) can be fully customized to make the mill version look just like the router version or anything you like, you just need to swap the buttons around. All the buttons for all versions are installed in the buttons folder on you pc. All info for doing this is in the VCP manual found here.

I haven't even gotten my unit out of the box but I'm excited about the VCP potential!
One thing I can't find information on - if I have my monitor in "portrait" mode is it possible to set the control matrix at the top or bottom of the screen? I could only get a 22" resistive touchscreen monitor, and it's probably a bit on the wide side. I like the idea of having the controls on the bottom for easy access, with the diagram/cutting paths at eye level!

Portrait mode is "possible" - https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic. ... 176#p56176
More here - https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=7558#p7558 from 4-years ago where Centroid states they might consider it but it is easier said than done.

fyi... an updated VCP users manual is now available.
I added 10 pages to the VCP manual to bring it up to spec with the v5.08 VCP feature set and edited many of the existing pages as well.
comments and suggestions for improvement are welcome
