Well I got my laser working this weekend. I did not go for the J-tec.

This is the laser I chose. If anyone grabs one of these the install was pretty easy. It is made for a very small engraving machine. I did have to lengthen the wires from the control board to the laser module. Easy ....

One thing that stumped me was that the switch on the pcb board has 3 settings. Off, PWM manual and TTL/PWM in. I got scared and thought I got duped by the seller. Works great.

I also bought a db25 connector that I had to take the metal pin ring protector off of. I glued the small pcb board to the db25 connector , connected the wires and off it went. Yellow wire to pin 18 and black wire to pin 14.

Any questions just ask.

Here is one for the new PWM stuff. I was having some random issues with a drive fault. I run Closed loop steppers. The drive would fault out on a positioning error. I ordered a new drive and motor combo, swapped the drive to start, and it moved immediately to another drive. I have upgraded software, controller pc, added a 23" dell touch screen and the laser module. Turns out that the pwm still works and runs to the laser even with the laser power off, and from what I can tell I must have been getting some sort of signal transfer somewhere, messing with the drives. I unhooked the cable from the control board of the laser that goes through the machine to the z axis and it seems to be fine. This seems like the wrong way to deal with this issue. Any thoughts?

Lathe Tool Setter Internal Measurement Problems

@cnckieth This is the ongoing issue you didn't get back to me about going on the Beta testing when I put the time in to it last time when you asked me to contact you directly...

Report and screenshot of a fresh beta Pro lathe install.

Only parameter I have changed outside of the Wizard is P55 for Radius programing not diameter.

The Touch tool is 10mm Diameter
The Test block is a hair under 10 mm thick so measuring both sides should TT should give an offset of 9.95 thereabouts.

Please see the Offset screen shot.

Oh and it also seems that the tool setter diameter, if set to less then 10mm e.g. 9.5mm saves the setting but the offset applies 10.00mm.

If I want to maximise travel I use a smaller tt diameter (yes less accurate due to tool centerline hight errors but is helpful sometimes)

check your shielding and grounding, sounds like noise issue.
