Hello,
What are people using for inlet fans and filters for the control cabinet? I am looking at some 120VAC 120mm fans, but what about filters? Is there any obvious solution I am missing?
Thanks,
Tim

These are what I use:
https://www.mcmaster.com/19155K23/
In through the filter/fan at the bottom of the enclosure and out through the grill at the opposite corner at the top:
https://www.mcmaster.com/1667T55/
I'm sure you can find those cheaper than McMaster it's just their search engine is incredible.

Re: Control Cabinet Inlet Fan
Thanks for the reply. I was thinking along similar lines. I already have the louvered exit vent. I am worried that those simple inlet filters will clog up quickly in a shop environment.tblough wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 11:54 am These are what I use:

Any feedback on how long they last?

I wash mine every month as part of my PM routine and they are never very dirty.

Re: Control Cabinet Inlet Fan
I use just about the same as Tom does.
Not an issue. I assume you clean your machine every so often? Wash the filter then....In servo, a maintenance message would pop up every so often to clean the filter. It has not been incorporated into Acorn CNC12.

Re: Control Cabinet Inlet Fan
I have used a lot of those same fans and filters.
In particularly dirty environments, or where maintenance and cleaning are likely to be neglected, I use an automotive air filter. A NAPA #2906 filter fits reasonably well around the opening for a 120mm fan. This provides more air flow, more effective filtration, and a filter element that the average shop guy might actually replace someday.
It does, of course, require a bit more mounting hardware.

Re: Control Cabinet Inlet Fan
Thanks for all of the great feedback. I have a clear plan now.
Unrelated question, I am having a difficult time figuring out where to get these fuse holders. I thought it would be simple, but I guess I am not sure what to call them in google or amazon
Any links?
Thanks!
Tim

McMaster again just cause it's easier - https://www.mcmaster.com/fuse-holders/f ... get-fuses/
Also available in DIN rail mount - https://www.mcmaster.com/fuse-holders/d ... se-blocks/
