I mounted my NUC in front of an existing opening in the far side away from the spindle on my milling machine. Gives access to the NUC’s front panel and chips and coolant can’t get to it. Plan to do the same on the lathe. Made a small plate to trim it out.

Got some brackets made for the motors and got the X axis motor mounted; Z will be the same.
I opted to go with these adapters rather than remaking the entire end cap. If the give me trouble I'll re-evaluate and re-do.

With the motors mounted and wired I noticed a creeping problem that I should have addressed in this thread but convinced myself it would help future searchers so started another thread here - viewtopic.php?f=60&t=5183.
I fired it up today to start zeroing in on the problem and no creeping all day long. Marty got me pointed in the right direction and I have a to-do list so I'm confident it'll be sorted out soon.
While waiting for the problem to introduce itself I thought I'd run the Pawn code and make an "air part". Noticed that my X axis was too far from center to be correct so I loaded a piece of stock and took some measurements. Sure enough, it was. After a few hours of manual reading and head scratching I made a realization. I had dialed in the axis a few days earlier to set the turns ratio and got them dead on but didn't think that the X axis was actually double the distance because it was moving away from centerline; 6" of movement actually = 12" of diameter on the part. Stupid me . To check that out I went in and cut the turns ratio in half and now the dimensions appear to be working as they should be. The new problem is the feed rate seems to be halved as well. Was that the correct way to solve that problem or is there another smarter way?
