Yes. It will drive a 4th axis and work provided your G code is written for a 4th axis.

The Acorn CNC12 router version requires a router Pro license to fully support axis pairing or 4th axis rotary simultaneous moves.
Router Version has same CNC feature set as Mill Version when it comes to the three levels, Free, Pro and Dig bundle.
For those users that have been using the Mill version on a Router and would like to start using the new Router version of Acorn CNC12...If you have an existing Mill Pro License for a particular Acorn you can purchase a Router Pro License at 1/2 price for that same Acorn. (this will be limited time offer)
If you are actively beta testing and sending in results and reports I'll supply a Router Pro License file for your efforts (limited time offer, only during the public beta test period)

Looking very good, Keith!

Question about this from the install guide:

"Limitations to 4.59 beta rev6 - G64 Smoothing is not compatible with PWM output. Do not use the G code smoothing feature and PWM
Output at the same time."

Is this a permanent limitation or something that will eventually be solved? My machine runs so much more smoothly with g code smoothing on...

Gerald,

This is a good question and is one that as a beta tester, I have posed, as I too utilize smoothing on my production table router (SB-PRS-Acorn). I've mainly been testing PWM for laser use and during that time, just on a benchtop machine that doesn't need much in the way of smoothing settings for the most part, but when I swap the laser to the SB, I might be wanting that smoothing ability. It's yet to be tested for me and it may be just fine for small slower feedrate laser files to be run without smoothing (G64 OFF).

There's one other part to that statement though that Keith may want to clarify. There's a PWM parameter (I won't go into it here now) that varies the PWM output based on feedrate and corners (accel/decel), and as I understand it (from beta testing), that part is what can not be applied alongside smoothing. I also believe it's basically only for laser applications to aid in over burning corners.

That said, there may be some clarification needed for those using PWM spindles, because they may want some smoothing applied.

I'll let Keith respond/explain further...

Could somebody explain it to me what is the main difference between Router version and Mill version, please?
I thought what router can do is the same with what mill can do

Are there any limitations on the 4.59 v6 Beta from my Mill Pro license to test on my router, or will it work comparably?

Mill License works with Mill Software. (not the router software, router has its own license file)
