Converting digitized files for editing.

Post by Steve G »

Greetings group. This is my first posting. I recently converted an inop 4x4 CNC router to the Acorn system. Overall everything is ok with the exception of getting the .dig files to convert. I can download the .dig, convert to .txt, etc. but cannot get it to import to ANY Cad/Cam program as indicated I should be able to do in the manual. I attempted to convert to .csv file and use Fusion 360 and import via the Import Spline CSV feature to no avail. I have attempted V-Carve Pro as well as Inventor. I have looked through the archives but do not see anything definitive. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

The info shared on this group has been very helpful, Thank you!. I'm sure there is a simple solution, I just cannot seem to find it.

Regards.

I'll tag along here. I'm interested in the digitizing software upgrade but there doesn't seem to be much out there on youtube besides Centroids 'horse' digitizing. Even then the process ends there, I'd like to see something from Centroid showing how easy/challenging it is to pick a random widget, digitize it, then import/edit it with a common CAD software. For the CNC uninitiated this is just another process that was famously quoted "we must pass the bill to see what's in it"
