I did not add a vfd. The spindle was not starting and I may have poked a wrong button on vfd because the spindle stated but could not be controlled by computer . That was over a week ago.
Now all I get is no heartbeat with new BBG. The old BBG would have heartbeat until I started software. Then the heartbeat would be gone and the computer would not start the cnc12. Message “Initializing MPU”
Maybe I should try to debrick both BBG again?
Thanks
You need to take a step back.... Unplug all cables from Acorn EXCEPT for the power connector and the ethernet cable. Power up Acorn and let us know if you have a heartbeat. THEN start the computer with CNC12 and let us know what you get.
You did not answer my question earlier, did you check voltage at the Acorn Power connector +24VDC and COM? If so, what is the value?
Did you have a report file from when the machine DID run? If so, please post it.

Old one seems to work. Heartbeat and the software loaded and I moved spindle.
2 errors on cnc screen
DRIVE FAULT
452 Ethernet Communication Error cncpc to controller
See Tech Bulletin 270
Now not moving any more. Don’t have any control of Birtual Control Panel. I can move in the blue screen and actions are working.
First you are running a VERY old version of software, version 4.12 while you SHOULD upgrade to 4.5, I looked at your error logs and you clearly have a communication error between the PC and Acorn. (See below) You shouldn't try and upgrade the software until this is resolved. Can you please unplug the ethernet cable, is there a metal jacket around the RJ45 connector? Is the cable blue? What is the history on the PC? I would almost try another PC meeting the system specs.
Do not upgrade the software until this communication error is resolved. Failed software upgrade can brick the Acorn.

The computer may have been changed out after I saw the cnc run...
The cable is blue. I also tried a new one that is also blue. I will see what I can do about a new computer. Any other ways to shield cables?

Thanks!!
Please check the connector, there should be a metal jacket around it when you unplug it from the computer.
I think I would go back to the guy that sold me the machine for some help. I don't know what your deal was with him....
Me personally, I would probably get another computer and a new SHIELDED ethernet cable and test with Acorn.

My used system is at version 4,12 --------
i am working toward updating to 4.5 and buying new computer
I got screen shots of WIZARD screens and also attached them to this post The DRIVERS never seemed to work correctly. Faults and other errors. I think the computer may have been changed out the day I picked it up from seller.
I have attached 3 REPORTS -- 9/29/20 is the date I picked up. I viewed the machine running on 9/9/20. Third report shows CURRENT status after start up today and got Heartbeat. I tried to move spindle but errors occurred, and then lost Heartbeat.
Looking at buying new computer and fresh install at 4.5.
I now can get HEARTBEAT but I lose it when machine gets errors. Can I do an update on this current system if Heartbeat is present?
