hello have you been able to take some more pictures of the controller.

Re: Installing the Acorn with Adtech CNC drives
Sorry, I still haven't. A soon as I am in the shed again, I will pull my controller and my connectors apart and take photos. Apologies again, I completely forgot.

Re: Installing the Acorn with Adtech CNC drives
I've been waiting for you, just to make sure I don't misconnect, and burn one controller driver, and I don't want to burn another one.
If I burn another one, without understanding what happens, I will have to install an adtech driver, and that's like going back to MACH3

Hi, I'm in the shed now and I think these files should be sufficient to get you going. I'm now a bit reluctant to pull things apart to take photos, but I documented everything I did in the attached files. If you still need clarification, please ask.

Re: Installing the Acorn with Adtech CNC drives
the problem of that connection (Lathe to Acorn CNC controller wiring 18-9-2020.xlsx) that does not describe that a resistor must be installed (2K pull up resistor, in the case of putting it on the headers).
In fact, the big problem (mistake) of not installing the 2K pull up resistors at the Acorn output is that a resistor (220 ohms) of the motor driver burns, damaging it with the consequence of not being able to make reverse turns and apparently, lose steps in the normal turn.
The motor driver works according to the attached diagrams work in 5VDC (single ended) for ACORN (single ended drive mode).
For other hand QS7 is pulse signal input interfase in two modes: single ended drive mode (Acorn) and differential drive mode (for CNC controller Adtech).
Maybe Acorn could work in differential mode with a https://cnc4pc.com/differential-line-driver.html (look https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic. ... 2&start=10) and raise the generation of pulse rate from 200khz to 400khz (10.000 to 20.000 mm/min???).
If the QS7 works with 5VDC drive logic (single ended drive mode), DB25 could be used.
The problem is that I am still not clear about the connection, not even in the case of using the Headers (open collector) or DB25 (TTL).

Re: Installing the Acorn with Adtech CNC drives
Finally Centroid work fine with my Syil X7, with Adtech servo motors/servo control motors
The QS7 work with 5VDC, single ended drive mode (Acorn) / head ( open collector).
The QS7 DONT WORK with 24VDC (you will burn QS7 motor driver), NEED RESISTOR.
Please use this configuration in QS7 Adtech, is tested.
QS7 (CN1) (Puls) Step+ -> 5VDC (with 100 ohms resistor) from acorn power source
QS7 (CN1) (Sign) Dir+ -> 5VDC (with 100 ohms resistor) from acorn power source
QS7 (CN1) En -> Enable (acorn)
QS7 (CN1) (Puls) Step- -> Step (acorn)
QS7 (CN1) (Sign) Dir- -> Dir (acorn)
Alarm (is open collector)
Alm+ -> To Do
Alm- -> To Do
Incom+ V+ -> not necessary
