trouble output #3 relay board

Post by george1963 »

Trouble with the relay board. When CNC12 connects to acorn, then the number 3 relay light turns orange. I check it at the PLC diagnostic menu. If I toggle the output on number 3 on, the plc light turns green. on the relay, nothing happens.

Hi George,
Your video link doesn't work. Make it unlisted instead of Private
You are running 4.20.1
Please up grade to 4.50 https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... loads.html
You do have an older revision of hardware. Fix the video link so we can take a look at what you are seeing. Thank you for trying to post a video.
Marty

Ok.
There was a know issue with an output doing that fairly rapidly if you have nothing assigned to that output, please upgrade to 4.5 and retest.

Please upload a fresh 4.5 report and I will load it on my bench test rig.

I loaded your report and did not have the same problem you are, though my board is the latest hardware. Should not make a difference.
You have a very early Acorn and you have an early relay board. I know that relay board needs +5vdc, so you connect the red wire to +5VDC. (Do you have it connected to +5VDC)

HA, I found my video of that board

It is the same 24v plus 5v power supply that is on Centroid web page. the 5vold is hooked up to Chanel 1, 5-volt output. if input code m61,m62,m64,m65,m66,m67,m68. all those relays are working. the only one is not is number 3. it does not change at all.

Sounds like it's possible output 3 is damaged.
What's the history of the board?
