The kp3 probe is disabling the MPg control wheel when the KP3 is plug in. When attempting to probe the error message says that the probe is tripped.
1) Running 4.5
2) The Ctl_ i Input screen shows a green dot for input 6 and 7
3) The Wizzard /probe has the probe-KP3 selected and defaults unchanged.
Any Ideas where to look? Thanks

Re: KP-3 problem
Mike, please post a current report. Also screen shots of your inputs and probe Wizard pages.curiousMike wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 11:15 am The kp3 probe is disabling the MPg control wheel when the KP3 is plug in. When attempting to probe the error message says that the probe is tripped.

Re: KP-3 problem
Mike / Marty,
I ran into this problem earlier and was getting ready to post a potential issue in the Update to version 4.5 section.
I installed a Hallmark ITTP probe that is Normally Closed when NOT tripped. When you set the probe to NC it set input #6 (probe tripped) to Inverted.
It will not show tripped on the Probing page (ie. the LED stays green).
Also while looking into this I accidentally tripped the probe which lock me out of jogging except on X1 on the wireless MG. Going to X1 allowed me to recover from the trip (as it should).

Re: KP-3 problem
carbuthn,
you need to look at the Centroid Probe Setup Guide
A Touch Probe of type NC MUST have a Detect Input in order to work properly.
curiousMike,
the first KP-3s that Centroid sold had a signal converter at the end of the cable that converted the probe from NC to NO type. Centroid later decided to remove that flipper board and let the probe be a NC type probe. Did you remove that flipper board at the end of the cable as Centroid requested?

Re: KP-3 problem
Swissi,
I had used the setup guide (used link in the wizard), but had used input #6 for probe tripped and #7 for probe detect (same way as I had setup my lathe).
I changed it using the wizard to Input #7 for Probe Tripped and #6 for Probe Detect to match the inputs used in the guide, but it works the same way, Invert Bar now over Input #7 instead of Input #6. The LED on probe page does not change when the probe is tripped. If you remove the Invert Bar, the LED works just backwards (green when tripped, red when not tripped, as expected).
Thanks,
Chuck
Probe Clear LED does not change when probe is tipped Input #7 has an Invert Bar over the LED (placed by the wizard Probe not tripped Probe tripped

Re: KP-3 problem
carbuthn,
the report you posted above can't be your latest report as it has only an E-Stop configured on Input 8 and no probe at all.
Please create a brand new report and post it here so I can check your actual settings.

You obviously did not read the post I mentioned above: viewtopic.php?f=60&t=3983&hilit=touch+p ... =40#p35449curiousMike wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 9:14 am 1) Latest report attached

You either need to remove that flipper board as Centroid requested or if you don't want to make changes to your wiring, you can select Probe Type "Mechanical" instead of the KP-3 in the Wizard and set "Input state when tripped" to "Closed".

Re: KP-3 problem
I did read the post. It was not clear that the board should be clipped from probes previously shipped. The instruction that came with the board emphasized that that the board was not be removed.
Before clipping this thing I need to ask:
1) If you do not have spindle control set up what are the probe protections provided by probe detect?
2) if I use the mechanical option on the wizard menu can I remove the probe detect from inputs and use that input for other function?
3) Is Mr or Mrs Swissi speaking for Centroid.
Thank you Mike
