software paired axis calibration
I am working on calibration of a machine with the Y as a paired setup. Specifically, axis 4 paired with 2. I believe the screws are very slightly different. I have altered the Turns/inch for axis 4 but am not convinced its making any difference. Specifically, I believe Axis 4 should travel about 0.03" further on a 30" travel. Axis 2 is set at 5.072 TPI. I corrected Axis 4 to 5.0771 TPI. Does a paired axis need any other setting adjustment to follow its pitch entry? I assume the resolution of this parameter is sufficient to allow the sort of 0.1% adjustments.

Re: software paired axis calibration
You cannot pair two axis with different overall turns ratios. As quoted from the axis paring manual "Both motors should have the same basic parameters such as "steps per revolution” and “Overall Turns Ratio” For example: you can not pair two motors that have different “Overall
Turns Ratios”. Below is a link to the axis paring guide.

Thank you. I solely focused on the manual section covering SW pairing and totally missed this comment. Subsequently, I found a "can do/cant do" document that makes this clear. Additionally it seems to make clear that I cant really use the screw calibration either. Ill read more as I have time to insure I understand things but appears for now Im out of luck.
As to the need to add equipment list, Ill get around to that to.
Thanks for the help.
