Re: defeat limits button not active (pretty sure I have it figured out)
Will do Marty. I'm making some changes and will report better.
I do appreciate you doing all this stuff that is not of your concern really. I'd send you and your family on a cruise but that may be a curse these days. LOL
Go do some fathers day stuff. My stuff is my machine. Everyone is gone away.

Re: defeat limits button not active (pretty sure I have it figured out)
I have 2 mechanical limit switches on each axis. Switches are mounted next to each other with stops on end of travels.
Z switches are wired in series so I only have one cable for Z going to control.
I have an estop wired on the front panel of the mill in front of Z. It looks like they had a micro switch mounted to Z instead of the ESTOP like I have it. I took off that micro switch. It was probably used for home on Z as I don't think they had software limits when this control and machine was built.
I'll do some changes and further send reports and photos. I just didn't think this was a Centroid issue but do appreciate your help in continuing.

I don't follow. You have two limit switches ONE one EACH end of EACH axis?

For what it's worth, in the report you posted, there were no limits defined.
You had INP1 defined as the plus home on all three axes, but all your limit input numbers were zero.
Given that, I would not expect the "Limit Switch Defeat" button to do anything, because there is nothing for it to do.

Re: defeat limits button not active (pretty sure I have it figured out)
I see. I'm not fully configured. I did not have limits defined as I was homing in place. I was thinking that the estop function had no defeat available and all the limits are in series with the estop. I also had home in place so how would it know to home by a switch?cncsnw wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 5:56 pm For what it's worth, in the report you posted, there were no limits defined.

My X&Y limits are mounted on top of each other in the center of the tables and ramps are mounted at the ends of the travels on the tables.martyscncgarage wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 4:45 pm I don't follow. You have two limit switches ONE one EACH end of EACH axis?

Re: defeat limits button not active (pretty sure I have it figured out)
Then series Z+, Y+ and X- together. One wire to Acorn power supply COM and the other end to Acorn Input 1. Assign to Home all.
Then if you like, you can wire Z-, Y- and X+ in series, One wire to Acorn power supply COM and the other end to Acorn Input 2.
Assign to LimitAll

Re: defeat limits button not active (pretty sure I have it figured out)
looking at the report.zip, there are no limits defined for any of the inputs by the Wizard.
are you confusing the difference between a limit switch and a home switch?

Re: defeat limits button not active (pretty sure I have it figured out)
I was doing home in place and not using any switches for home.
Now I have it wired as Marty suggested and all is working, although I don't really like the auto home running X to the extreme and how long it takes. I'll just have to try it this way and see the reasoning. I had to move the mill to make more room for that extreme movement. I was going to move it again if I got it working anyway.
THX all again.
