Not so fast on a 4x8 machine. Accuracy between homing has been good. If it isn't, slow it down a bit and make sure your targets are adjusted with minimal clearance (close). Should have stated that the 250 is XY and the Z is 90. The second touch never gets to that feedrate.

Interesting, seems to me like its easier to stop a car moving at 20mph instead of 200...I would rather have the car crash into the wall (if it HAS to crash, at 20mph instead of 200. The carnage might be easier to fix )
The routers I have done, I have taught my clients to use the PARK feature when they shut down for the evening, OR manually jog the axis (fast jog) close to the home switches before pressing cycle start to home....
The machine is up and running, and I did my first spoil board planing with great results over the weekend. I have a 0.5mm (0.02") out of mechanical square in my gantry which even after 3 adjustments of my gantry gussets I can't seem to land exactly dead nuts on square, I'm always over or under by about that, so I figure I'll pull the remaining 0.5mm out with my motors via the Y-slave home sensor.
Problem there is that the ShopBot's proximity sensor isn't setup for high accuracy twist adjustment of the NPN prox sensors, as the sensor points perpendicular to the y-travel direction. Meaning instead you move a bolt head on the frame away or closer by untightening, sliding, and resetting the bolt. This makes fine tuning by sub 0.5mm increments a real pain. I'm thinking of installing proximity mounting blocks which put the sensing direction collinear to the Y-travel direction, but am worried about crashing the sensors down barrel as they're only 8mm barrel diameter (2.5mm sense distance, 0.1") and the standard deadband on homing seems to be like 0.25 to 0.375".
Is there a way to adjust the standard homing dead-band distance outside of the wizard?
