FEED RATES

Post by superpot »

Can anyone please advise the maximum feed rate settings X,Y and Z for a post processor on my machine which is basically a bridgeport size knee mill.

I am also wanting to set up an A rotary axis at some point in the near future which will be powered by a 400w AC Servo same rpm ratings and this will be set up at a 1:7 ratio from motor pulley to spindle.

Max spindle speed is 4200 rpm. My old system was I believe set up as max 800mm and 2540mm in rapid mode running DC servo motors.

I am running DMM AC Servos 750w rated speed is 3000 rpm , max 5000rpm They are set up at 1:3 ratio from motor pulley to ballscrew pulley.

This is basically setting up the post processor and afterwards, I will set up all feed rates within my alphacam software.

Maybe somebody has settings on their knee type machine running acorn and can assist me?

Any help much appreciated,

TIA

I set the maximum feed rates in the post to the same values as the max settings on the mill.
Cheers,

Tom

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.
