What are your favourite MPG macros?

Post by Muzzer »

I've got the wireless MPG with my Acorn and it's pretty much an essential requirement in my view. However, I've not got round to associating any macros with the spare user programmable buttons. I was wondering which would be most useful.

Most of my work is 3 axis milling and I do manual tool changes. I use a Renishaw probe for work setup and a TTS for tools.

What are your recommendations for best macros? Enabling / disabling coolant or air might be one. Possibly G28 above current WCS origin. There are 4 to go at. Any ideas would be welcome!

I have a macro that I use to send the gantry to the far end of my router assigned to the aux1 key on the wireless MPG. I use this to load and unload the table. Nothing fancy, but much more convenient than typing the command into MDI each time.

I use macro 1 (WCS origin) and 4 (PARK).

Just got my MPG in recently and was wondering the same thing. I have only had the chance to jog the machine around with it a couple of times but I think I am going to really like it and wanted to use the buttons for something.
