weird problem with steppers (Resolved)
I got my acorn control box and have everything set up the problem is that using the arrows on the desktop the all the steppers work the way they should but when I go to run a program made in Vectric Aspire the paired X steppers either just hum or one turns and the other hums but doesn't move. I tried reversing the steppers but that doesn't help. doing an air cut the Z turns and the Y turns. Not sure what the problem could be. If I input a G move the steppers work. Could it be a bad Post Processor.

Re: weird problem with steppers
It is hard to help if you don't provide any information.
You need to give at least the report, type of drives, how they are connected to the Acorn, pictures would help us to help you also.
A copy of the code you are trying to run.
Please see the information in this link: viewtopic.php?f=60&t=3539

You say you got an "Acorn Control Box" did you have it built or buy preassembled?polishpickle wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 7:52 pm I got my acorn control box and have everything set up the problem is that using the arrows on the desktop the all the steppers work the way they should but when I go to run a program made in Vectric Aspire the paired X steppers either just hum or one turns and the other hums but doesn't move. It sounds like the "SLAVE" axis is turning the same as the "MASTER" axis
You need to post pictures of what you have exactly to provide us with more information. Please take the time to follow this post: viewtopic.php?f=60&t=1043

Re: weird problem with steppers
I think he stated that jogging with the VCP works like it should but a Vectric g code file causes his x axis issues. Sounds like a software issue somehow but way more info is needed for sure.

Re: weird problem with steppers
It was a problem with the software pairing and smoothing. I have now jumped the drives and it runs real smooth.
