Computer Requirements
In prepping for acorn arrival I checked to see if my computer has a HDD or SSD. It appears I have both. Do I need to select anything or do nothing with this?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Computer Requirements
Hard disk drives operate in multi-millisecond times, SDD's operate in 10-100 microsecond range. You are going to be attempting to control a machine that is moving fast, probably faster that the HDD can respond depending on the operation. Be sure to install the software on the SDD.

Re: Computer Requirements
Use Windows 10 Device Manager, open it, click on disk drives. Take a screen shot and post it.

Re: Computer Requirements
These are my two drives. I googled what each was. One is HDD and the other is SSD.
Thanks Marty,
I have prepped my computer per your video.

Re: Computer Requirements
I just installed acorn and appears I have successfully set it up. Unlike in the video however I had to open the wizard from within cnc12. Also I selected the DB 25 bench test. It didnt have just "bench test" option. Hopefully this is ok.
Thanks Marty for your video.

Re: Computer Requirements
The ADATA SU600 is a SSD and hopefully your C drive. This is where you want to install the Acorn software. The WD drive is an old school SATA drive.

Re: Computer Requirements
Looks like the SU600 is a 120GB SSD. Kind of typical. Computer manufacturers would put a relatively small SSD so the operating system would load faster. Then give you a mechanical drive for data. You can get buy with Windows 10 and CNC12 on the 120GB SSD.
