lathe tool setting

Post by nigel b »

After setting the master Z reference pre-setting o/d tools works fine
If you try to set an i/d tool the offset usually moves by . 01mm or so
If you describe the i/d tool as an o/d tool and re measure it works fine and gives you the correct offset
I had to measure all my tools as o/d and change them back to i/d after measuring them

See the screen shots on tool 14
Is it a bug or a basic setting that has not been configured

This sounds like same issue I am having when trying ID boring bar when I switched to fface works for z but my x still gets way off and have to add double the thickness of my tool setter probe
