New VCP Has Got It Going

Post by MecTechMike »

Folks,

Playing around with the VCP beta build and having fun with fancy 3D icons. Check out the progress so far. I use powerpoint to create the icons, then have them converted to vector graphics using inkscape. Screen shot below. What a nice improvement. Kudos to Centroid.

Not sure of that yet. Not all new buttons are fully integrated yet. It was included in the beta VCP release to test the vector graphic based VCP. I'm impressed so far, the icons and xml based programming allows nice customization of the interface.

REMINDER,
Mike is BETA testing the new software. It has not been released. There will be changes before the release.

The worklight will likely be added to the output selection

Found this thread in a search for how to connect up the worklight to Acorn CNC and control it via the button on the VCP. I'm finishing up my CNC conversion on a PM-30 mill with the latest Acorn CNC12 mill software V4.64 and I don't think the worklight output ever got added back into the latest release? It's listed in the Acorn CNC12 v4.6 Wizard I/O PDF, but I'm not actually seeing it in the wizard.

Anybody know of how to add back in? Or a workaround? I know it's a bit minor in the grand scheme of things, but it's one of the last items on my to-do list and I'd like to get this thing knocked out.

Worklight is in the Wizard and can be put on a free output, then the worklight button on the VCP will switch this output.

Well, doh! I'm glad you confirmed it. The case of the missing worklight output in the wizard has been solved.

I checked it out again... thought I was going crazy, but the slider bar on the far right side of the screen apparently had just a hair more to skooch down to reveal the last couple of items. Just didn't see it. Thanks for confirming!

Got my light... all is right in the world!

The work light has been part of the VCP. All the settings for the skin event number, associated LED output and other settings are in the VCP manual. Along with a ton of other info on creating a custom VCP.

Here's a link if you don't have the manual: https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... manual.pdf
