Re: Upgrade to 4.20.1 for Lahte
Jerry,
can you tell us some more about what you are trying to accomplish? you've posted mill and lathe report files from the same Acorn?
what kind of machine is this? and what kind of operations and parts are you trying to make?

Re: Upgrade to 4.20.1 for Lahte
Just to let you know I followed this Video to the letter when I upgraded.
I just wanted you to know that it did not work for me and I hand jammed because it failed.
It is mute to me at this point,

Re: Upgrade to 4.20.1 for Lahte
I have both Mill and Lathe on the same Machine and I use the Mill software do certain items and Lathe to do others.
I have Digital on the Mill and Lathe Pro on the Lathe.
I have been asked this question before , I have purchased and licensed both and I have my reasons for doing it that way!

Re: Upgrade to 4.20.1 for Lahte
I have not done the turns ratio and I will have to figure out how to do it.
So should the parameter be set for diameter in intercon? Out of the box it is using radius , as it is the default? #55 off the top of my head?

Turns ratio is the same as on the mill version for the 1st and 2nd axes. 2.54 on the Z and 5.08 on the X

I just upgraded my router from V4.18 yesterday and my report file did not work either. I also had to manually input to the wizard. If you are interested Keith I can post my restore file late tomorrow.
Jr
yes, please.
Jerry, the reports you posted are not from v4.18. i'm looking for the v4.18 report that didn't work for you , the one you used to 'restore report' with when updating to v4.20.1... as i have not found a v4.18 report that hasn't worked with the v4.20.1 Wizard "update" feature yet.
Keith I have attached the restore file. I also remembered that I was interupted near the end of the restore soooo-. I thought about retrying but I didn't.

Re: Upgrade to 4.20.1 for Lahte
Here is the Intercon program.
I cannot find anything on the ratio for the spindle for instructions on how to do this. I have never done this with the lathe software.
Instructions somewhere?
I did not see it in the manual.

Re: Upgrade to 4.20.1 for Lahte
Keith I took some time today and deleted my fresh load V4.2, reloaded it and used my restore file from V4.18 with no problem. It worked as it should. I did something wrong the first time.

Re: Upgrade to 4.20.1 for Lahte
Jerry, i was talking the the axes overall turns ratio's. Gary provided the info. if these are off then the program would be off.
thanks for posting the Intercon program. What is the issue you are having?
where are you setting PART WCS Z 0?
and
where is the machine homing to? Need photos.
first thing i notice is the start Z value is .5 and the end Z value is 8.000
i think you mean -8.000?
you should
Please follow the Lathe Tool Setup and Lathe Intercon programming examples in the manual, step by step
and then watch this video
