Nesting parts

Post by cbb1962 »

I don't have a big commercial CNC business, I have a nice shop and a nice machine. I don't have a lot of "production" work but every once in a while I get a job that I need to nest parts to be more efficient. One drawback of Fusion360 is that it doesn't do nesting of parts. I have found a cool product for guys like me that need an efficient way to nest parts every so often.

https://www.mynesting.com/ I upload several DXF files with parts and tell it the size of the sheet I need to nest on and it goes to town! They charge less than $7.50 per nest, for me that is well worth it. On the current job I'm working on, I tried nesting manually and couldn't get it to be less than 3 sheets of MDF. With mynesting.com it is down to 2 sheets. Saving me $75 in material and the setup and handling time for a 3rd sheet.
