Bridgeport Boss Limit Switches / Home

Post by RaptorMachine »

Hey guys

YAY finally working on my acorn and i have a question about limits / home switches... so i watched Marty's videos and he recommends normally closed operation. ( the boss was set up for normally open ) i was able to open the switches and re-configure them for normally closed.. so my question .. what is the best way to wire this to acorn i know i can wire all the limits in series but what would be the best way to connect that to acorn... all on one input ?

and since i only have one home switch how would that effect my home programming... i am thinking that the z home is for tool height setting ?

X has a 2 way 2 wire limit switch
Y has a 2 way 2 wire limit switch
Z has 2 2 wire limit switches

and z also has a home switch

i would simply use one switch on each axis as a home switch and wire them all into one input on the Acorn set to "HomeAll" in the wizard. following the Acorn hookup schematics. and set up software travel limits. easy peasy.

do not use Z home for tool height setting on a knee mill. follow the knee mill tool height video on that.
