Acorn CNC 12 Version 4.20 not communicating
The new CNC 12 Ver 4.20 will not communicate with my laptop. It tries to connect then the screen goes back to the desktop.
When I switch back to the older version 4.18, no problem communicating with the laptop works fine. What could be the problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Can you do a short video clip?
What message do you get?
Try and uninstall it using Windows Control Panel and reinstall it.

Do you have a shortcut on your desktop? Check the properties of the icon to see if it is still linked to v4.18. I had a similar problem. Erasing the desktop icon and then right-clicking on the program name from the main menu allows you to re-create the icon.

Re: Acorn CNC 12 Version 4.20 not communicating
I just Teamviewed into this machine. I do not think this is a communication issue. The software closes in 2-3 seconds after you try to open it. No messages or errors. I even downloaded the installer again and reinstalled. V4.18 does work, V4.20 just goes back to the desktop.
I checked for antivirus programs. Checked firewall settings.

davismark5255,
can you please post the Report file from your 4.18 Installation? It might give us some clues.
Also have you checked the Windows Event log for Error messages? Just type Event Viewer in the Windows Search box, then launch it.
On the left side, select Windows Logs -> Applications and look for error messages created by cncm.exe. If you find any, go into the detail view and copy paste the information here.

Re: Acorn CNC 12 Version 4.20 not communicating
But the lathe computer can run version 4.18 with no problem.
And just keeps crashing when I try to run version 4.20. No error message.

Re: Acorn CNC 12 Version 4.20 not communicating
4.20 is a different program than 4.18. uses different aspects of Win10 and the PC.
need more info.. need a fresh report.zip and what swissi said about the windows error logs, version of windows 10? regions set to USA? etc..
and have you tried v4.20 on a different computer?
