ATC Spindle but no tool rack.

Post by CNCChris »

I am looking at purchasing a bt40 spindle that I can have all my tools setup and all the offsets setup in the library. At the moment I just want to have a physical button to push to release and manually change tool holder.

Question 1
Can you type in the tool number to bring up the offset for that tool? For example tool 99 would be the edge finder.

Question 2.
Can the machine stop at each tool change, move to location while I manually switch tool holders, hit cycle start, it grabs tool length offset from the library and keep going?

Are the above things mentioned already setup and ready to go in Acorn?

Regards
Chris

Yes & Yes. Standard setup when you populate your tool table.
Already doing this with TTS style spindle.

Nope.
Just build your Tool Library. Each tool has a number. Then simply call the tool and offset number with M6
Take a few minutes to read the Mill Operator's Manual:

Search M06 3rd hit and you are there....
