CTB Servo for KCR

Post by mick41zxr »

KCR,
Here is my servo setup. It works reliably for me however it is a different brand but they look very similar.
Please be careful as you don't want to damage your drive, the only issue I have is that I have to power my Spindle prior to powering Acorn.
I am in the middle of redesigning my control panel so I will make a full schematic when I get a chance.
Some photo's attached.

I hope this helps you setup, you will have to set your drive to be in speed mode.
Set you analogue channel (PC7) to 1 for FI channel (0-10v) use the zenner diode across Acorn outputs as per tech bulletins (For rev 3 & below I think)
You will need to play with your drive deadband & analogue zero to tune the drive to match Acorn 0-10v output.
Basics work by;
Acorn Output 3 (grey) to Spindle I1 (fwd)
Acorn Output 4 (brown) to Spindle I3 (inversion/rev)
Acorn 0-10v (white) to Spindle FI
Acorn Com (blue) to Spindle FC

I have rev3 board so output 7 drives 2 relays at once
Acorn Output 7 (white) to Spindle I5 (Enable)
Acorn Output 7 (pink) to Spindle I7 (Orient)
For Orientation I have set in Spindle Parameters,
PD8 = 3
PD14 = 2 (Output 1 M0B to Acorn Input 5, M0C to Acorn Com) for position completed
PE4 = 1
PE5 = Spindle position mine, is set at 2970
PE6 = Spindle speed while positioning, mine is set to 120rpm

I hope this gets you started.
Regards,
Michael
