Very odd.
Go into the computer BIOS settings and look for BOOT device,
Make sure the first boot device is your hard drive, not "Other USB" or similar.
Give that a check....
Marty

Re: Windows hangs on boot if pendant usb antenna plugged in
Ah, apologies, my description was poor. Windows starts to come up so the correct boot device is selected.
Looks like software specific to the pendant usb device hangs. I unplug the pendant usb "thing" (radio?) and Windows comes up and Acorn will run (without the pendant, of course).
thanks Mike

Try a different USB port on the PC?

Re: Windows hangs on boot if pendant usb antenna plugged in
Well. That worked. Windows now boots with the pendant usb thing plugged in. Thank you.
So.... the issue that lead to this leap down the rabbit hole is that the pendant is not being recognized. This is on a system that has had a working pendant for 2+ months. To debug this issue I have 1) replaced batteries in pendant, 2) tried different usb ports 3) rebooted a few times 4) re-enabling the pendant in the wizard a bazillion times and 5) reinstalling cnc12. No go. cnc12 does come up and does allow control of the Acorn. The system seems to be working fine with the exception of the pendant.

I know.
Sometimes it can be difficult to pinpoint USB issues.when Windows is up, but before you start CNC12, can you power off and power on the pendant, then start CNC12?
Do make sure all PC drivers are up to date.

Well, thanks again Marty. There's definitely something buggy someplace here. Everything, pendant included, is working now, but 10 minutes ago the Ethernet communications to the Acorn were failing. And the recent usb pendant weirdness. Grumble. I'll try checking PC drivers 'n such. Could be something there.

You can look at your message logs to see if you see anything unusual.mike.davison wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2019 12:19 pm Well, thanks again Marty. There's definitely something buggy someplace here. Could be a PC Gremlin....
