Output Configuration Acorn CNC12 Emco Mill 55
Hello,
I retrofitted an emco mill 55 so far it is already working.
Here is what I can't do:
1. I need an output relay that could reset the stepper motor driver by cutiing and supplying 5vdc signal to the drives.
I did tried "DriveResetOut" in the drop down menu of outputs in the acorn wizard, every time I click reset and reset ok the output relay is triggered on then off, it is what I needed however the turning On and Turning Off of the output is too fast that it is not able to reset my drives. Can I prolong the interval of the on and off of the relay?
2. Also I needed the limit switch from my machine door to pause the machine, how will i do that?
Thanks.

Sorry I cannot help with your question, but I think you can help answer a question for me.
Were you able to use the EMCO motors that came with the mill? If not what motors and drives did you use?
I am trying to retrofit a EMCO PC 55 mill.

Thanks

For #1, you should use an Estop contactor, output 1 is typically assigned NoFaultOut. That is the relay you should use to open and close power to the drives. You may have to use relay #1 on the relay board to drive a larger multipole relay.mdhubilla wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2019 1:51 am Hello,

For #2, SafetyDoorSwitchClosed is used as a SAFETY not a PAUSE. If the door opens the control faults. If you want do use it for anything other than a safety device, that's probably up to you. Its function:
DoorSafetySwtichClosed Input used for machine tool safety, typically a door
switch but could also be used for other safety device
input
P985 =1 allows slow jog with door open,
P85=2 Does not allow any movement
with door open.

Yes I was able to use the stepper motor and driver that came with the machine. I can give you the "Pin" assignment of the driver if you need it.bj_jcollins wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 12:14 pm Sorry I cannot help with your question, but I think you can help answer a question for me.

mdhubilla,
If you were able to post the connection pinouts going into the EMCO pc55 mill servo driver card when the system crashed it took that away.
When you have time please post again.
THANKS

sorry for the delay , here are the pinouts. please see attached pictures.
The pinouts written in pencil are the pins of DB25.

The direction signal are reversed in connection. Try it out.
