Lathe with rotary axis milling/engraving

Post by procop95 »

Hello Dears.

I have started my mini lathe conversion project and need your help to decide on purchasing AcornCNC controller.
A soon as my lathe has 2 axis, it is all simple and easy, but I'm planning to do some small parts milling on it and will build toolpost attached rotary axis "C" which will keep workpiece. Something like horizontal Mill with rotary table and without "Y" axis. I want to be able to do some engraving with this setup also.
Question is: Will AcornCNC be able to help me if I'm using only 2 linear axis ("X", "Z") and one rotary ("C")? What type of software will I need to get?

Forgive me, if I'm asking something obvious...I'm very new in this.
Here is my project schematic build:

thanks
Alex
