Starting new thread since the 'After update to V4.14 MPG not working correctly' thread has too much unrelated history and is reported on an earlier software version. Thanks for the patience cnckeith.
Problem: the pendant wheel only works in x1 mode, not in x10 or x100. All other pendant features work. The x1, x10 and x100 settings are recognized by cnc12 and displayed on the screen. There has never been a probe attached to this system. The pendant was working correctly then, seemingly randomly, stopped working correctly. Hideous video showing this at https://youtu.be/mTgGWdTMo4I . Report attached.
I applied the workaround from the thread mentioned above (set P11 to zero) and the problem was resolved. The previous setting for P11 was 50006. Reading the description for Parameter 11 it looks to me like I will not be impacted by this workaround since I do not have a Touch Plate, but this does appear to be a software problem.
Thanks,
MIke

Re: Pendant only works in x1
mike, thanks.. when i do a fresh install of v4.18 the mpg works as it should...so i'd guess.. that this issue was a result of the update process.
describe how you updated to v4.18 that might shed some light.
and the good news is the update process has been getting streamlined with each new version. now that you are on v4.18 updating to upcoming v4.20 will be easy with just a few buttons pushes.

Re: Pendant only works in x1
Well, Keith, I just picked up the machine a couple weeks ago and can't really answer the 'how did you update' question. Gary Campbell built my new Grizzly wood lathe so he may be able to comment on the specific steps used to do the last update.
The pendant was working correctly until a couple days ago and the last software update was weeks earlier so may be unrelated. The workaround may be masking the root cause. Right?
Thanks,
Mike

Re: Pendant only works in x1
sounds like it was setup for a probe at one point and then not reverted to No probe in use.

Re: Pendant only works in x1
That is exactly what happened. I restored a report from a CNC12 v14 system that had a probe installed into a CNC12 v18 system without a probe and a couple parms were not written correctly. All is good now.
