Help first part
I push cycle start it pulles in the contactor for flood add starts the spindle and stops.
Tool 3 is a groove/turn and parting tool
Tool 6 is a countersink to beburr the id of the part.
I setup the tools as instructed in this video.

Video of what the machine is doing.

Re: Help first part
Did you perhaps set your Z in the wrong coordinate system and the coordinate system you are using in the program doesn't have enough Z travel?
On a new part, I usually look at the part, graph it (f8), and visually check to be sure everything looks ok. Then I manually job the machine to the extents of the part both to see if there is in fact enough clearance, and also to be sure the dro display looks "right".
If there is a travel issue, it should give an alarm during graphing stating the travel is exceeded. It will normally self clear and continue to show the plot, but if you try to run the program, it will error.

Re: Help first part
Its not going anywhere until you clear the Z limit. are you using limit switches or software limits?

Does it give the error when you try to graph it?

Re: Help first part
It shows the tool path but I have not run simulation. Should I?

Re: Help first part
Your obviously hitting a limit somewhere have you been able to jog it back off it should clear by itself. you have to figure that out. are you hitting a soft limit you will have to change the measurement in soft limits i doubt your hitting a hard stop at that point.

Re: Help first part
Thanks for the help guys. It was the limit settings that need adjusting.
Got another thing that needs adjusting. This is a gang lathe.
It stops after each tool is finished and ask for the next tool.
I press cycle start and it uses the next tool and when it's done it ask for the next tool again.
I want it to run until the job is finished.

Re: Help first part
Are the programs being written in Intercon? If so, when you insert a tool record, set actual tool change to NO. If you are generating the code with an outside program, you'll need to edit the post processor to remove the stop after the tool change.
Cheers,
Tom

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.
