Re: ACORN Rev 4 Controller Board
I bought the original one just before the rev3 came out. It works fine. I am borrowing a rev 3 board from a mate to get the lathe up and running but glad I have delayed buying another acorn so next one I buy can be a rev4... unless ur doing a stellar deal on old rev 3 stock Keith .

Re: ACORN Rev 4 Controller Board
Gary, that looks like a useful testing board. I'm curious what the two rotary [switches?] are in the lower left, and how they work for your testing...

Re: ACORN Rev 4 Controller Board
Eric...
I use those switches to toggle the limits (IP 1-4) and tool measure (IP 5) from normally open to normally closed so that I can setup controllers to match the components that my customers have. That way I can have all the wizard settings to match, as close as possible, the customer's machine. This gives them, in most cases pretty close to a plug and play solution and allows them to spend their first few weeks learning how to run the software, not set it up.

Re: ACORN Rev 4 Controller Board
Looks like Rev 3 boards are on amazon from centroid for $275 free shipping. I'm not sure if the $25 price break it to sell off the old inventory or if you'd get a Rev 4 board when buying from amazon.

Re: ACORN Rev 4 Controller Board
The discounted Acorns on Amazon are Rev 3. There are 8 left I think.

Re: ACORN Rev 4 Controller Board
I don't know of many that can say they have improved the hardware 4 times since the release of Acorn 18 months ago, and countless and continuing software upgrades and add ons.
This should speak volumes about Centroid listening to their customer base and their commitment to their motion control product line.

Re: ACORN Rev 4 Controller Board
Marty, your number is a bit low by my count. There have been 10 ACORN PCB versions, power supply upgrades, relay board, relay board adapter card...martyscncgarage wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 1:02 pm I don't know of many that can say they have improved the hardware 4 times since the release of Acorn 18 months ago

OKAY! Your point is well taken!
Have a good one, thank you for all the work you put into the hardware!
