Because I use ClearPath and DMM servos, I decided to use the H2-H3 headers to connect some DM542 stepper drivers to the Acorn. Here are three photos showing what was done.
Note the 2.2K resistor placed in series with the Acorn's Step and Direction signals.
Terminal 1 is Step from Acorn
Terminal 2 is Step to DM542
Terminal 3 is Direction from Acorn
Terminal 4 is Direction to DM542
Terminal 5 & 6 are +24VDC to DM542
Terminal 7 can be used to connect cable shield to Ground
Terminal 8 is Ground to DM542
Red wire from fuse terminal is +48VDS to DM542
Note that I do not use the Enable signal on these stepper drivers
The PK268 motor has six wires. The DM542 only uses four wires. I cap off the Blue and the Green wires and wire the motor half-coil.
