Strange (to me) slave axis issue

Post by chaznatr »

I just got a brand new Acorn board, and I have connected it to a brand new G540. Everything works perfectly when using Mach3 (I used it to test my motors and G540 before my Acorn came in).
My setup right now is the Acorn going to the G540 and 3 axis with N being slaved to Y axis. When I setup using Test Bench settings and when using Gecko Drive only settings it works perfect. But if I hit the Reset Home button my slave setting reset and my N axis motor will not move. In CNC Setup Wizard it will show no slave drive setup so I have to set Axis 4 to slave with Axis 2. It will work fine again until I press Reset Home and the issue repeats itself. I have swapped connections on the G540 with the same result just on the opposite motors.
Other than that I have nothing else connected.
I have also uninstalled the CNC software and deleted the C:/CNCM folder and emptied the trash, but upon installing it appears like my settings are still there so maybe I am missing another configuration file (I'm not sure).
To me it appears like the Reset Home button is ordering the slave connection to reset but I cannot figure out how to fix it, any ideas?

Yes, I am waiting for my license to be transferred from my old board. I just got my RMA today and sent it in.

Without using the Pro version, it will not hold your "axis paired" setting.
You can pair the axis, open up the CNC12 software and even move the paired axis around. But once you hit reset home, the axis pairing goes away.

Ah I see, I have always used the pro version and didn’t realize the axis slave was a “pro” feature. I guess I’m down until the license gets transferred.

It sounds as if you have an established setup, so you may be better off waiting.
But you can always "slave" your second motor as opposed to "pairing".

When did you make the request to transfer the license?
