drive faults

Post by lilb93 »

Well got everything wired in except the limit switches, Tested the drives with the DMM software and they work fine. Changed the parameters in there software to pulse and direction. When I start CNC12 and go to jog the drives they go to fault drives.I have 3 DYN4 drives and i put the three alarm wires pin 18 wires all three of then into H1 IN5.
I believe my problem is enable signals must be inverted using the acorn setup wizard. Either I am blind or just overlooking it but cannot seem to find out where it actually is in the wizard .

hello. yes, looking at the Acorn Dyn4 schematic the note says the enable signals must be invereted.
these settings are in the Advanced tab of the wizard.

I did find that and did invert all three drives. Do you also check step and direction? Also on the Schematics for the e stop button the line that goes from the e stop does it go from the AC netural? I have it now on the 24V common.
I have RL1 24V power , and NO1 to one side of the e stop button.

invert just the enable.
do not invert the step and direction signals

the dyn4 acorn schematic attached shows no connections to AC neutral in regards to the e stop circuit.

No firewall is on, will have to find aluminum foil and wrap the cat 5 cable in it to stop the moon beams form getting to it.

do the ping test.. 99.9% of time its firewall/virus program stopping it.. make exceptions for cnc12 in both "public' and 'private' and then you can run with firewall on .

It did ping perfect, found the problem for the Ethernet cable was wiring 24vDC from the power supply from the acorn to the 24v contractor on the e stop. It needed 24V AC had a brain fart. Now all it does is fault the drive when I press X-Y-or z. I think the problem for that is I am using two separate power supplys one that came with the acorn and a 5V dc I had. A new Meanwell RD35B will be here by 1PM Saturday. Will put that in and cross my fingers.

Do you have limit switches hooked up yet?
