Re: Advice on retrofit of proprietary plasma table?
Seems like they haven't really been working on this much. Guess i'm going to go with the CandCNC instead. I had high hopes for this, but dont want to keep waiting any longer.

Do what you have to do. It works with stand alone THCs. There are several users running them .
Centroid can only do so much at once.

1 main problem I'm having with plasma is not being able to since the material between cuts
2 The tool touch off would be a good start you can already set the offset I use it on the 1st cut to set the distance from the metal but it needs to working between every cut
I have the tool touch off wire hook to the torch tip it works great on the 1st cut

Successfully using Centroid Acorn on a plasma table for almost two years. It's good now... It will only get better.

Are you saying there is no way for the torch to touch off between cuts? More info please.Craig Hilliard wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 10:59 pm 1 main problem I'm having with plasma is not being able to since the material between cuts

Re: Advice on retrofit of proprietary plasma table?
most everything I cut quarter-inch or thicker
it works OK on thicker material but it would be nice to have it touch off Cut

Re: Advice on retrofit of proprietary plasma table?
Not currently running a thc. Didn't have one when the machine ran mach3 so it didn't really seem necessary. Maybe upgrade to one in the future but 15 years into this table and doing just fine without.
Most cutting is plate rather than sheet metal so warping and tip-ups haven't been a major problem.

Re: Advice on retrofit of proprietary plasma table?
I've heard someone got the Neuron THC to work with the Software, i'll have to find out more, as I was a THC with control of the Z axis.
