That’s about 500ipm!
I put a bathroom scale under the Z and let it down on the scale.
The scale read 352lbs. This give me some idea of how much counterweight I was going to need. It took 450lbs of counterweight to balance the Z. I turned the balls screw by hand and it felt the same in both directions. The X and Y are getting DMM 750watt Nema 34’s I will have 600ipm X axes videos soon.
I’m going to control all the with a Acorn setup.
This is a Fadal TRM mill.

The counter weight setup is very slick. Just like an elevator except your only variable load is the tool!
