Kinco SV100 VFD connections

Post by midy »

Can anyone help with the control side of the connections to this VFD - I'm fairly stumped with it. The motor and power supply wires are fairly straight forward but the 1-10 volt, forward reverse and stop have me beaten right now. Manual attached.....VFD ninja required!

Yes, this will work. The analog voltage input is Ai1 or Ai2 and ground. You have to set parameters as well. Can not provide detail instructions right this second

Thanks Russ. That confirmed that for me, now i just need to know how to set up and wire for forward , reverse and stop. I'll await your reply - thanks again.

EDIT: I think that the vfd X connections need somehow programming to be the run/stop/reverse connections but a mental blockage stops me from gleaning this information from the 'chinglish' manual!

Here is the wiring and parameter changes that must be made to control the Spindle from Acorn. Hope this helps.
Russ

ACORN KINCO SV100

AN GND - Analog Ground - GND
AN OUT - Analog Out - Ai#1
COM - Common - COM
OC4 - Forward - X1
OC5 - Reverse - X2

-------- Optional connections -------

OC6 - Reset - X3
IN5 - Drive Ready - R1a
COM - Common R1b

Kinco Sv100 Parameters, these need to be programmed in the VFD, follow the manual it is very easy. You will also need to change other parameters depending on the type of spindle you are using. THe voltage, amperage, frequency all need to be populated correct. Take you take and read the manual carefully. If you program these incorrectly you can damage your spindle and VFD. Don't rush read each section and double check your work and you will be fine.

A0.02 Main reference frequency selector = "1" sets it to use Ai1 as analog input for frequency

A0.04 Methods of inputting operating commands = "1" setting it to terminal control input instead of panel

A6.00 Multi-function terminal X1 = "1" this makes X1 the Forward switch

A6.01 Multi-function terminal X2 = "2" this makes X2 the Reverse switch

A6.02 Multi-function terminal X3 = "6" this makes X3 the Reset input is used.

A6.09 Terminal control mode selection = "0" this sets the terminal control to two wire operation

Wow, thanks Russ - really appreciate you taking that time out for the directions - cheers. Just one thing that I still maybe reading wrong. I think the manual says that the common port on the kinco for the X multi function connections is PLC rather than COM? Or am I reading it wrongly (again!)

Please read page 40 of the manual and you will see you use the COM on the VFD for the X connections.

Thanks again Russ, I wasn't questioning you. It's just these chinese manuals are so misleading. Thanks for helping me out again.
Have a good one - cheers
