452 Ethernet Communication Error, (AvidCNC EX controller) <resolved, dust collection static not drained>
The code 452 only comes under a load…
1st time 3passes stop
2nd time started at the beginning with the first three passes and no load. The second 3 passes were under load and stopped.
3rd time 6passes noload 4 passes under load stop
Any ideas?

Re: 452 Ethernet Communication Error,
Noise? Are your step and direction wires shielded twisted-pair cables? Are your step and direction cables separated from your power wires?
There are a few recent Ethernet communication errors in the logs. This could be noise as well. Are your spindle and axis drive power cables shielded and separated from communication wires?

Re: 452 Ethernet Communication Error,
It is an Avid pro60120. The wires are what they provided and I wired up as they instructed.

Re: 452 Ethernet Communication Error,
"only under load" is most likely noise related. how about some photos of your install otherwise we are just guessing.
is the machine grounded? i've seen the dust collection system put all kinds of static into the CNC when both are not drained properly.
have you tried the Avid forum? as we are not intimately familiar with how they have things wired/grounded/shielded

Re: 452 Ethernet Communication Error, (AvidCNC EX controller)
^^^This. When I saw "only under load" I immediately thought higher currents = more EMF. Made suggestions to minimize noise. Just because Avid did it, doesn't mean it was done correctly.
Cheers,
Tom

Re: 452 Ethernet Communication Error, (AvidCNC EX controller)
yeah for sure, that being said, the avid controller could also be just fine and the issue is stemming from the machine installs, accessories and/or power connections which can all contribute to noise under load issues. need photos to help solve

Re: 452 Ethernet Communication Error, (AvidCNC EX controller)
Problem Solved: It was the static charge that the dust collection was creating. I disconnected the hose, and that took care of it.
I'll ground the dust collector and the body of the CNC, and it should be good . Thanks for all your help.
